Stray Dog follows a former officer searching for his commander after the disbandment and destruction of the Kerberos Division. Second of the three films of the Kerberos Saga by Mamoru Oshii, Stray Dog is a prequel to The Red Spectacles, and in turn Jin-Roh is a prequel to Stray Dog.
