> The mighty Katjvarna Empire is currently embroiled in a war with the neighboring Kiorka Republic.
Within an unspecified corner of this empire, a certain young man was reluctantly preparing to take the High Grade Military Officer Exam owing to mysterious circumstances. His name is Ikta.
As a man, Ikta abhors war, is slothful by nature, and worships the female form.
At the time, no one could have possibly predicted that a person like him would become a military figure worthy of being called a legendary general……
The young Ikta, armed with his superb talents as a soldier, struggles to survive in a world ravaged by war. This tale will recount his tumultuous life up until this point, as the curtains are drawn for a spectacular chronicle of fantastical warfare!

EPUBs source: justlightnovels (1-8) and vn-meido (9-14). Mostly untouched text and formatting.
What I DID touch were illustrations. Both Baka-Tsuki an skythewood didn't post all of them, plus they were often quite low definition.
Almost all covers and colored pages have been swapped with higher res versions from the raws. Same goes for most greyscale inserts (I couldn't find good quality raws for some of the volumes).
Early volumes had some of the illustrations translated/typeset so I did not swap those, since I'd say having them in English is better than having them in better quality but in moon runes.
Volumes 1-5 have alternative covers drawn by the second illustrator. I left the original cover as the actual cover and put the alternative one between the colored pages.
Oh gods I cannot thank you enough for putting in all the effort into creating this torrent!
I simply love Alderamin and just re=watched the anime for the upteenth time.. And then thought to have a look at the novel.. and presto! A kind soul already put em together ready for reading.
Again, thank you so much!
Unfortunately, the translation is quite bad, at least the Baka-Tsuki one.
Some words are missing, incorrect words often used, what the hell is a "scene partner" used constantly,
wrong phrases are used, wrong sentence structure used, sometimes sentences have directly opposite meaning compared to what they were supposed to mean,
and sometimes sentences are written so wrong that you can't even figure out what they were supposed to mean at all, and basically need to guess from context.
Example, from talking about some sound people heard:
"They thought that it had some meaning, but they could distinguish it no matter how hard they concentrated"
very obviously its "couldn't" here, not "could"
Another example, talking about the exam:
"Of course, the passing rate was absurdly high" - from context its clear that the rate is absurdly low, not high
"Spanning the entire test, they seldom, if ever, cut by 400 times, and they didn't reduce by 20 times even with just the Primary Written Examination" - what the hell even is this sentence... I guess the meaning is supposed to be that less than 1 in 400 people pass, and only 1 in 20 pass the Primary Written Examination alone, or something like that?
I can find hundreds of examples like this just in volume 1.
Well, it is better to have some translation than none, but sometimes you need to do the guess work + error correction to try to understand it.
