Playback errors on MPC-HC and Infuse Pro, which are both high-quality players (Infuse is Apple native). Infuse is especially excellent in how it's able to render ASS subtitles at a high level of performance (not perfectly) while software-decoding AV1, despite the lack of power in the Apple TV 4k chip. No other player on AppleTV can do this. Infuse is also the only decent player for iOS and iPadOS that isn't an adware-driven mess. IINA, an mpv build with a native MacOS gui, is available on MacOS, but neither mpv nor any mpv-derivative exists on stuff like Apple TV 4k, so this release is a no go for anyone who plans on watching on something like that from the comfort of a recliner or couch. The first issue I encountered is that the video playback in the first episode would freeze on the first chapter switch (title card) and wouldn't automatically recover. Neither MPC-HC nor Infuse have ever failed this way on me before and I watch a shitload of MKV files with chapter markers. This is merely intended to be an informational post for prospective downloaders - not a criticism. **EDIT**: Re-writing the MKV by using mkvmerge v95.0 to remove the English audio track (which I normally do at some point anyway after I finish seeding something) completely fixes the problem. Removing the english audio isn't what fixes it - based on a quick analysis it looks like there were potential metadata issues in the first 5 episodes based that re-processing the files with mkvmerge 95 fixed. Possibly more than 5, but only those 5 had obvious metadata issues at first glance. Playback is fine in everything now. Unfortunately I had to stop seeding this to fix my problem, and I don't want to keep two copies around just for seeding.

Episode 8 is completely corrupted, even after trying to rebuild it with mkvmerge. Dropped frames like crazy, and on some players the audio cuts out around 1:33 and doesn't come back. On mpv, the video plays at 3-4x speed and constantly drops frames, putting the audio track way behind. Skip this release. Just go with SEV's release or something until somebody decides to redo this series using modern tooling.
