I dropped this during S2 because of how bad it got. Has it improved at all?

if there's a way to get this show to improve then it's better that the writer starts from zero again

Se1 also kind of had moments where it ruin the buildup, but for the most part (if you look away from these small things) it was solid for what it is. Se2 and onward didn't just rushed things but also felt like what a casual Japanese author would do by running out of ideas and keeps the series alive at all means by making a lot of random scenarios that make no sense compared to what the series originally aimed for in terms of plot and tone and only focus on random stuff the JP audience deem as "popular", A lot of authors in Japan fall into this rabbit hole either cause they currently don't want to end their own series, or cause their agency push them to keep it going for $$$

they are better at world building than actually telling good stories, which is why a lot of anime are a little enjoyable then always fall off a cliff, many such cases, sad
