horsing around
\> They’re basically identical, but there’s no Blu-Ray quality version of the episodic cut. I read that they cut out an important scene from Ayabe. Did you re-add that one from Amazon source? Not sure if there are more cuts tho.

I don't think that's true... there certainly weren't any full scenes cut, perhaps some lines at most. EDIT: Yeah, I'm looking at a script comp between the episode and movie scripts, and it looks like the only lines cut were some recap lines at the beginning of episode 3. Some animation at the beginning of episode 2 was also shuffled around. I don't know what the thing you read was referring to.

Your filename says (2024) but MAL says it came out in 2023. Was this a typo or based on a later western release date?
the movie version is from 2024

In that case the MAL link in the description should be updated to point to the movie version. https://myanimelist.net/anime/58517/Uma_Musume__Pretty_Derby_-_Road_to_the_Top_Movie

Will you do the New Era movie, pretty please?
![lol](https://i.imgur.com/APTtLXP.jpeg) >I don’t know what the thing you read was referring to. > One of the scenes after winning the Derby where Ayabe dreams about her twin telling her why she is having fun while she is dead.

> One of the scenes after winning the Derby where Ayabe dreams about her twin telling her why she is having fun while she is dead. That scene is in the movie. I opened up the file and watched it just now. Don't believe everything you read on Reddit.
My bad bob. I read it from a MAL comment trying to find what eXmendiC was referring to since I watched the ONA.
The cut scene is first 40 seconds of ONA episode 3 (movie point 48:12) where she's happy racing and her heart pounds before her sister shows up giving shock juxtaposition from being happy to remembering. (Not recap dialogue so don't believe everything you read on nyaa.) Didn't bother checking if there are any other cut scenes.

The flashback footage of the Derby (it's reanimated, to be clear) is great for the episodic version as a way to reorient the viewer (which is what I meant by "recap"), but it would feel redundant in the movie version when the actual scene played out just 150 seconds earlier. I did my due diligence earlier and checked this. I confirmed nothing important was cut, and indeed that specific reddit comment that people were referencing was straight up a lie. Why am I getting dragged into this stupid argument? We wouldn't be having this conversation if you'd done your damn homework like I did.
> stupid argument Dunno man, I'm just pointing out the missing scene. You're the one saying it's fake when it's not. There's dialogue missing too. All pretty important for character building and tone of the scene changing. Movie does it worse.

Sure, it's fine to have that opinion. The only thing I want to emphasize is that the statement that the scene "where Ayabe dreams about her twin telling her why she is having fun while she is dead" was cut is straight up wrong. That's an important part of the show, and thankfully it is still present in the movie.
That's not what was written though. No need to attack me for reading comprehension when it is others (reddit replies, you) who misinterpreted it as the sister scene being removed. Again, just mentioning which scene was actually removed. > One of the scenes after winning the Derby <-- important part > where Ayabe dreams about her twin telling her why she is having fun while she is dead. <-- [when] / location of scene occurrence Agree to disagree about the cut dialogue and scene events being "recapped earlier" (they weren't) and relevant or not.

I didn't even attack you in that last comment. Why are you still trying to score points here? Thank you for helping clarify the issue of what is or is not actually in the movie, but we don't need to clarify who did or didn't have good reading comprehension or writing skills.
all this yap for some slop about racing horse girls smhmh
