Q: Why do we need this release at all if there's already an HD remaster?
A: https://nyaa.si/view/1413850 - what this guy said p much. The movie was considerably cropped for the BD, and though not in shiny HD, this release is currently the best way to watch it in open matte (see [this](https://slow.pics/c/vDl6syFZ?image-fit=contain) comparison).
Stacked together from four(!) different copies of the film, since the individual LDs weren't in great shape. I bought the discs, captured them with the Domesday Duplicator, decoded them, stacked them together to remove dropouts and noise, and finally encoded the result. This was also my first proper release to use manual IVTC via Wobbly. I'm tired...
The black crush can be a bit rough, but the telecine was clean, with no blending.
I was too exhausted to sync up the audio tracks from the other releases, such as Rintaro's commentary, but anyone who wants to is of course free to do it on their own. I figured it was less pressing since those discs are already online.
Perevo's two pennies:
For the main feature, I lifted the subs from https://nyaa.si/view/1285814, because it's the only one seeded. I wanted to include subs and dubs for other languages, but after wowmd's redone the encode for the 10th time, I've given up.
Wowmd also encoded the LD trailer for the movie, and I translated it, though the typesetting on that is nonexistent.
Genma (幻魔) actually means "phantom demon," but the word had stuck as the in all the titles so I let it be. Besides, his title was expanded in the movie to "The Great King Genma" (genma daiou). Harmagedon is just the Japanese misspelling of Armageddon, but it also stuck because they spelled it out in English and in big letters.
